The Switch Process

KEEP YOUR NUMBER STEP BY STEP

01

Get Your PAC Code

Text "PAC" to 65075. Ofcom rules require your provider to send your PAC by text within 60 seconds โ€” free of charge. PAC codes are valid for 30 days.

02

Choose New Provider

Compare options using our network guides. Check coverage at your postcode using the new provider's official checker before committing to any plan.

03

Sign Up + Give PAC

Sign up with your chosen new provider. Give them your PAC code at sign-up. They initiate the number transfer โ€” you do NOT need to cancel your old contract separately.

04

Transfer Completes

Number transfers typically complete within one working day. You may experience a brief period without service during the actual switch window.

05

Old Contract Ends

Providing your PAC automatically initiates cancellation of your old contract. Check for any early termination charges if you are currently mid-contract.

โœ… Your Rights: Under Ofcom regulations, your provider must provide your PAC or STAC immediately upon request at no charge. You cannot be charged a fee for requesting these codes. If a provider refuses or delays, report them to Ofcom at ofcom.org.uk.

โš  Mid-Contract Warning: Getting a PAC code does not waive early termination charges. If you are mid-contract, you may still owe the remaining monthly payments to your old provider even after switching. Always check your contract terms first.
